My brother and his fiance got engaged which I was so happy for them. I found out that I was pregnant with our first child a few months ago, I was asked a few weeks earlier to be a bridesmaid. I have declined the offer now as I know that I will be very pregnant for their wedding. They have now told my family that they are going to have a big Las Vegas wedding ( which SHE wants). My brother would have been happy getting married on the beach here in British Columbia where it is just absolutely beautiful. I definitely respect the fact that she wants to have a big wedding with the white dress and all of that. The fact is though, my brother is not rich and neither is my family. She has a very low paying job which I know a lot of the expenses will fall on my poor brother who is already is a lot of debt from school. They are requesting everyone to fly down there and pay for their own expenses, no problem. My husband and I just don’t have the money to go so we will miss the wedding, also i will be over 7 months pregnant at the time and would really prefer not to fly out of the country. He is my only brother and I am so upset that I will not get to see him get married. My family is struggling to be able to pay their ways down there, and it is looking like they may not be able to go either. I kind of thought they may reconsider the Vegas wedding as none of us can go, but she is adminant on having it there. My brother has recently told us that he doesn’t care if we can make it or not, he wants to give her the huge, expensive wedding she has always dreamed of ( and can’t pay for). What are some of your thoughts on this? I respect the fact that it is their wedding and they can have it wherever they please, but since most of out family can’t go, wouldn’t you try to figure out another alternative? I am so sad!

If i cut her out of the wedding Im going to lose her and my niece in my life. If I leave her in the wedding how much more is it going to cost or drain me emotionally. Ive spent tons on having them both in the wedding because I love them both. I feel like shes totally taking advantage of me and the situation. My fiancee & I decided to have our wedding in Las Vegas in June. Kinda cutting it close but my dad & step-mom offered to pay for the ceremony & my dress so we don’t mind bumping it up a few months. All our immediate family mom’s, dad’s, siblings already said they’d be able to make it.
So they chapel we’re having the ceremony in only holds up to 70 people. Our list including us stands at 68, of those 68 we assume (lol i know we shouldn’t but oh well) that 9 won’t be able to make it.
His grandma had mentioned all her family in texas being able to make it. They aren’t on our list an we only have room for 2 more people. Any advice on how to deal with this one?
I’m usually pretty straight up but I can’t be that way with grandma even I’m not that mean LOL. Should we just not worry about it & hope it isn’t brought up? Or should we plan ahead so we know how to answer the questions that might come up as to why certain ppl aren’t invited?

Fast forward to now, i am going through divorce. only five months after our marriage, she wanted out. to sum it up she was having affairs (plural) was becoming ever increasingly emotionally/mentally abusive, took my kid from me with no contact for a month on two occasions, took all of our possessions, and left me for a guy that got her pregnant…

so although i feel that i am over her, and moved on i still think it would be too much of a struggle to go back. it will remind me of the good times, and i dont want to think about them. im afraid of how ill act/feel when i come across familiar grounds. i guess you could say im scared. i guess it feels like it could never be the same, and all the things we shared together there, and the memories we made are no more. its like a part of me died there and i dont want to hurt again because i have come so far in my grieving process.

what do i do? will it ever be easy again?
