A little background! So I got engaged this pass april and we planned our wedding for 2011 how ever we found out that my fiance is getting deployed to Iraq at the end of the year. So we are going to get married in Sep. He wanted to get married in my backyard since I wanted a small wedding but truth be told we really don’t have the money to have a small wedding which grew to 100 ppl and my mom can’t help out she is just making it on her own and his dad who has money that can help us out a little is not willing to help out. Also I’m planning everything out since my soldier is in Ny and Im thinking courthouse! Less planning! Less Stressing! So!

My Questions!

1. How does the courthouse wedding work?

2. How many guest are allowed? ( since his family will be coming from Al and some family of mine is coming from Las Vegas. I just want our close family there.)

3. How much money?

4. What courthouse do you recommend?

5. Any more info I should know about?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!
From a stressing out bride.

Oh Also! Does anyone know where I can find a cheap dress that looks like the 50’s I dont want a big dress never really wanted a big dress and something that I can buy cheap. Thanks!

    1. go to your local courthouse website. They should have all the answers to your questions regarding where you can get married and the costs. In my state, you have to get the license in the county where you live. Also, the cost can very from county to county (at least it does in WI).

    2. You can have as many people as you want, but keep in mind that it may be a small room, so I wouldn’t advise having more than 20.

    3. Cost will vary, but I don’t think it would be more than $150.

    4. It would most likely be your county courthouse.

    5. The courthouse will have all the info you need regarding costs, residency requirements, blood tests, ect. After that, the rest is up to you. Consider having a small backyard bbq with your family. That should be cheap enough. As for the dress, check out.

    Congrats!
